Why Your Efforts To Get Past The ATS Aren't Working

What are you doing to increase the number of your?resumes?that get past resume pre-screening databases (Applicant?Tracking Systems)?
Here are some of the most common strategies job seekers use to try and get past ATSs that don't work well:
- Apply To More Jobs:?While this is the most common strategy used, it almost always fails to get you more interviews. Do you really think you'll change your results by doing more of the same thing that hasn't been working?
- Using JobScan:?The problem with Jobscan is what you put into it - the job description. Job descriptions are almost always at least a year old, written during the budget cycle (18 months ago when the headcount was approved), generic/standardized to avoid HR lawsuits, or recycled from a departed employee. But needs change constantly, so job descriptions almost never reflect an individual hiring manager's current needs, nor do they give you an advantage over other candidates.
- Applying Through Career Pages:?There's no advantage to submitting through a company career page - Resumes from career pages, job boards and LinkedIn all are input into Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Trying To Go Through HR:?Company recruiters may talk to you or even be nice to you, but it's not their job to help you find a job. HR's job is to submit candidate resumes into the Applicant Tracking System, send a short list of pre-screened resumes to the hiring manager, protect their company by keeping them in compliance with hiring laws, and keep you away from hiring managers.
Be honest with yourself ... how many of these strategies are you using in your job search?
Instead of continuing to do the things that don't get you quality interviews, shy not learn changes to your resume/interview/ job search strategies that bring big changes to your search results?
