Hey folks, it's Bernie here.
Please pay attention to each other's projects, brands and businesses online and in real life,
Contact each other for coffee, ask or give help and visit each other's coworking spaces and projects.
Draw attention to each other's workspaces and projects.
I say this because I see so many of you tweeting about huge companies, their funding rounds, and their in-door slides rather than cheering on the people you are sitting next to.
Two local examples you can cheer for:
Lisa in The Workshop Folkestone has a slide - tweet about that slide!
Stuart opened The Factory in Plaistow near where Kofi and I used to live.
Why we need each other
It is tempting to get caught up in touring 'inspiring workspaces' and gaze in awe as another big coworking chain opens its next cookie-cutter space.
However, solo, micro, and small businesses are the foundation of our economy, and we must stick together and support each other.
Most of the time, the members of our coworking spaces are solo, micro, and small businesses.
Keeping the money in your community
Research by the Islington Council on Economic Inclusion shows that when £1 is spent at a local business, that £1 goes around the local economy four times.
When £1 is spent with a corporation or large company, it leaves the local area - to who knows where.
Micro and small businesses create most new jobs, drive economic growth, and provide essential products and services to our local communities.

?? Why Your Brand Is More Than Just a Name (And Why It Matters)
In this clip from tomorrow's Coworking Values Podcast with Caleb Parker , which was recorded at the Urban MBA podcast studio in London, we discuss' brand'.
Caleb says:
When asked, "What does brand mean to you?" I strongly believe in the brand. But I think many people misunderstand what it truly is.
Many think of big hotel chains like Marriott and Hilton or companies like Nike and Adidas.
Some might even think of personal brands like Richard Branson and his Virgin empire.
While these are all examples of brands, they represent only the surface level.
To me, the brand is an idea. It starts with an individual – a founder or co-founder – who sees a problem in the world and thinks, "Holy crap, that's not good enough. \
Let's fix that." This idea, this solution to a problem, is given a name.
We call it a company, a product, a service.
But the brand isn't just the name or the logo.
The true brand lies in the values behind the solution.
It's the why behind the what.
It's the belief system that drives the company's actions and decisions.
?? The Summer 2024 Community Manager Cohort
The Summer 2024 Coworking Community Builder Cohort
Imagine the fun and reward of joining a small, tight group of just five locally minded community and coworking leaders for an online 12-week work sprint to get you through the summer!
Emily and I are thrilled to embark on our 12-week 'Summer 2024 Coworking Community Leader Cohort' on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 - next week!
And, of course, we'd love for you to join us for this exceptional connection opportunity!
Over the last decade, Emily and I have figured out how to support each other and constantly deal with our neurodiversity challenges; much of this program is rooted in our workflow.
You can read more about how we work here.
TLDR - The summer cohort
??Six coaching calls over 12 weeks with support via a private group chat.
??It's intentionally priced the same as a coworking desk to make it accessible.

Who should join?
What will all this do for me?
You'll get your mission and direction laid out and spend 12 Weeks moving fast with a small group of people on a mission.
Emily and I will guide you - but the reward will come from being in a group of five people cheering each other on.
Couldn't I do this myself with a book or YouTube?
Of course, you could! ????♀?
But if you could, you would have done it by now. ????♀?
And if you are like me, you move much faster and lie less to yourself when you're in momentum with people.
That is why I love community and coworking so much; when I'm in it properly, I have movement in my life.
