Why you shouldn’t wait until January to start looking for a new job!

Hi, I hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit. Whilst the John Lewis Advert has been on television for a number of weeks and you’re probably almost a third through your Cadburys advent calendar, everyone here at Digitech is working hard to help candidates find great opportunities.

The reason for my post is that I believe December is one of the best times of year to look for jobs for some of the following reasons:

Less competition

People tend to take time off to spend time with their families/friends and enjoy the Christmas festivities. Some people also go abroad over the holiday period.

There are many opportunities available

Recruitment doesn’t sleep in December, it’s a myth. If a role has not been filled between September and November, it doesn't just disappear. Companies still look for the right candidates and whilst some candidates may have some time off in December it’s a great chance for others to take advantage.

Momentum

Many people find it hard motivating themselves in January, it’s always a long hard month with bills to pay, after Christmas diets etc. If you keep the job hunt active over Christmas and New Year then you will remain energetic and enthusiastic, traits that potential employers love.

Better mood

No one wants to be a Scrooge! Who doesn’t love Christmas? More people are in a charitable mood than the other times of the year. The decision makers (CTO/ Hiring Managers/Business owners) are usually in happier moods making them feel more inclined to offer the position.

So why not come and get ahead of the competition and talk to me about current openings. Here at Digitech we have many opportunities available with interview slots in December!
