Why You Should Be Your Own Best Friend
Do you cringe at this idea of being your own best friend?
Most people do.
I’d say society, in general, would consider this idea to be “sad”.
Isn’t that ironic?
It’s as if we’ve been brainwashed into believing that being our own best friend is a BAD thing.
Just try it out for yourself if you don’t believe me.
If you’re ever at a party talking to a group, try saying the sentence “I am my own best friend” out loud and see the looks you get.
It’s pretty interesting how most people aren’t comfortable with this notion.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a best friend who is someone else, I’m just saying YOU should treat yourself like your own best friend.
Being your own best friend can be one of the most rewarding relationships you’ll ever have.
Instead of having a toxic relationship with yourself where you never keep promises you make to yourself and talk trash about yourself, you have a relationship that is built on self-love, self-acceptance, and self-care.
This makes so much sense, yet people would still look at you like you’re crazy if you openly affirmed that you are your own best friend.
But it’s precisely because of this mentality that so many people nowadays are depressed and vicariously living through the lives of other people (I’m talking about the people who binge vlogs and spend all day watching TikToks to see how other people are living).

Here’s the thing though. You don’t have to be one of them.
You can RISE ABOVE from that brainwashing and be logical about this.
You can become aware RIGHT NOW that you need to?improve your relationship with yourself.
And that means you can be happier and more at peace than most people you know.
But if you’re still not convinced, here are some reasons why you should be your own best friend:
So, being your own best friend is?really, really?important. It brings more happiness and fun into your life. I don’t even think it should be seen as an optional thing. If you want to be happy, this is the most important thing you should strive for.
So, take some time to get to know yourself, love yourself, and be your own best friend.
Then forgive yourself and welcome this new you. The you that cares about and respects you. More than anyone else.
Never stop hustling & never stop dreaming,
