I love working at Marketing agencies, and i always did, since 2007 when I took my first step in Marketing; I realized quickly that I'm created for Marketing & Advertising Agencies.
So why should you join a Marketing Agency ? I will list you some reasons that should encourage for example join any Marketing agency no matter how small, rather than working at a big brand company.
Before I start, You should know that there are some cases that don't work this way, for example if you're in a multinational company, let's say @Unilever and by chance the Marketing activities was centralized, then you'll be working in a Marketing agency within a bigger company ... But as this case is so Rare to happen; let's proceed with the reasons why your next step should be in a Marketing agency.
1- Personal Exposure
Inside a marketing agency, you're handling multiple clients from different industries, and they're all demanding services and products. Logically, most of the times you will find yourself in regular meetings with some of the Top Leader in the Industry.
The great personal exposure about marketing agencies is huge. Not only that you are meeting these great leaders, but it's about how you learn how they think, act, plan, and make decisions.
You simply understand all about these leaders just by having an open mind and the willingness to grasp all what's happening around you.
2- Always having an exciting day
If you love your job as a Marketer, then you will enjoy working in marketing agencies, as everyday is a big day. There's no such thing as boring days as working for multiple clients in different industries gives you the flexibility to move between projects.
Let's say you're in the mood for strategies and visionary thinking, you'll find a client who has a strategy pending at your tasks. And when you're in the mood for something light, you can work on Content creation in Digital Marketing and so on.
So of course you've got it figured out now, that if you're in a Marketing agency and you're working on only 1 task each day, then this is not the case i'm talking about.
I myself enjoy the flexibility I have to work on a client' strategy now, and after few hours I write some content, revise so art creation, do some market research, read some Marketing updates, Manage my team, have some time off to play a game and re-boost my mind ... and other activities.
3- Learning is a non-stop activity
Each day you're learning something new. And from Each client you're getting something unique.
How can you tell? Among your friends, you will be the favorite guy to talk about any topic and have an added value in what you're about to say.
Simply you've some files stored in your subconscious about the different industries you're working with.
It's really amazing when you find yourself able to interact with different fields like Sports, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Tourism, Hospitals, Medical entities, insurance, football players, transportation, governmental, and many others.
