Why you should upgrade to IBM Tivoli Network Manager 4.2 and how OpenAdvice can help you succeed
After attending yesterday's Webinar on "Your Future with IBM Tivoli Network Manager" I thought I could share some follow-on thoughts. So here is the first post in a series of five, within which I’ll show you the benefits of the IBM Network Manager, aka ITNM, in its latest version. If you are still running ITNM in a version less than 4.2 – this might be interesting for you. You should seriously consider upgrading to the latest version, but let me explain why. Besides some goodies, such as a full DASH integration, a modern, web-based Java free GUI or Oracle 12c support, ITNM 4.2 will drive your operator’s efficiency by providing them with a complete overview on network, alarms, and performance data. You might think that you just read another marketing line, but wait, we are OpenAdvice, an IBM Business Partner from Germany. During the past years, we built some strong knowledge on ITNM by deploying it in the fields, where we were facing all kinds of network equipment that needed integration. Besides ITNM’s great out-of-the box integrations with major vendors, we built custom discovery agents collecting data via SNMP, ReST, SOAP or SSH – you name it! We know the spots to tweak within the product and can therefore help you to get the most out of the latest release. Based on our experience, we will help you to migrate your existent Network Manager configuration and any customization you might have. Together we can examine your system, check for its sanity and maybe make thinks a bit easier to understand. Sounds interesting? Watch out for my next post, where we’ll have a closer look on migration paths from previous versions.
