Why You Should Keep Your Prices High

Why You Should Keep Your Prices High

When you’re a Virtual Assistant, it’s often difficult to know how much to charge your clients for your services. There is such a wide range in the marketplace that it can be nerve-wracking to talk to clients and potential clients about how much you charge.

One phrase that I often hear when talking with Virtual Assistants about choosing an hourly rate is, “No one will pay me that much.”

In order to be a successful Virtual Assistant, you’ll need to put this belief aside – so that you can earn the money you want and deserve.

Here’s what I’ve found:

After offering encouragement and guidance to the Virtual Assistants in my online community, I have seen time and time again that their clients are willing to pay them what they’re asking for. A few of the VAs have even been brave enough to double their rates without losing a single client.

Keep in mind that not everyone says yes to my hourly rate, either. But enough people do that I can earn a consistent living. Your clients may come from all over the country (and world!), so you are not constrained by what people will pay according to where you live.

Just a few weeks ago, a potential client, after asking my rate said to me “your prices are on the high end.” I paused for a moment and said to her, “you’re right, they are.” And then I stopped talking.

She is right. But you’ll notice that I didn’t offer to change them or give her a discount. My prices have always been non-negotiable. They are published on my website and set in stone.

Stick to your guns and watch what happens!
