Why You Should Invest in Your Personal Brand

Two days ago Julius Omokhunu taught "Building a Personal Brand" in one of the modules of the Digital Millionaire program and it inspired me to write today's newsletter about branding.

Building a strong personal brand is like that annoying yet rewarding workout you do every day/week. It requires time, effort, and resources, but the payoff can be pretty sweet.

One of the most annoying parts of building a brand is creating a strong identity that stands out from the competition. It's like trying to find your voice in a crowded room full of people yelling, "Pick me! Pick me!" You have to develop a unique brand voice, visual style, and messaging that speaks to your audience and resonates with them. It can be challenging, but once you've nailed it, you're golden.

Building a brand also requires ongoing efforts to stay up-to-date with industry trends and customer preferences. It's like trying to keep up with the cool kids in school. You have to know what they like, what they don't like, and what they're talking about. It can be exhausting, but it's essential to stay relevant and remain top of mind with your customers.

However, the rewards of a strong brand are well worth the effort. A well-established brand can increase customer loyalty, drive word-of-mouth marketing, and even command a price premium for products or services. Think about the brands you love and trust. You're probably willing to pay more for their products or services because you know they deliver quality and align with your values.

In conclusion, building a brand can be a challenging and time-consuming process, but the benefits are significant. So, keep hustling, keep iterating, and keep building that brand that stands out in the crowd. After all, the world needs more brands that make people smile, feel inspired, and create value.

Disney, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, etc. So many great ones. To quote David Aaker, father of modern branding, "A brand vision should attempt to go beyond the functional benefits to consider organizational values; a higher purpose; brand personality; and emotional, social, and self-expressive benefits." All of these companies, and many more, are masters of this method. It's both admirable and frightening to see how powerful branding can be when it taps into the human heart and mind.
