Why you should "gutvest"? to find your way back to your purpose?

Why you should "gutvest" to find your way back to your purpose?

How did we become so lost?

We entered this world screaming after our first breath. Our roar, a contract with the universe that we will speak up and be heard. We are cut from the umbilical cord - the connection of our stomachs to the placenta of our mother’s womb. At birth the gut to gut cut, we cease to rely on someone and become independent. And so, and the restless journey begins to find our reason, our mission, our purpose.

We were born with an internal compass, call it what you may, intuition, instinct, inner voice, or gut feeling. Intuition is defined as inner knowing.

400 Years BC the Chinese discovered the compass. Magnetic metal that turns towards the earth’s magnetic pole. It was used for Feng Shui to navigate the energy flow in your home. The earth is one big magnet and a compass allows us to connect to the very center of our planet.

Today the compass helps us to find our way back home and to explore.

Here is the thing, when you only use a map, it’s confusing. But when you use a compass with a map, it has superpowers.

I often think this is how we as humans work. In our pursuit to find our True North, we map out this journey with logical thinking, but we abandon the compass, the superpower that will keep us moving in the right direction.

Albert Einstein said, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and forgotten the gift.

Steven Pressfield “The more important a project is to your soul’s evolution, the more you will resist it.”

Like magnets, it's the constant push and pulls of resistance and attraction of our “inner knowing.” We have become so numb to our inner compass because we are inserting the GPS co-ordinates of someone else’s journey, and have this born fear to explore our own independent journey?  Our egos don’t like exploring the unknown, it hates change because we don’t like losing power.

So how does my inner compass work?

The inner knowing comes from your major command center, the heart. It does not communicate in a language. It’s your reasoning organ. Studies by the Heart Math Institute found that your heart has 40 000 sensorial neurons.

It takes all of the information and sends it as a compressed file to your brain to translate it into a language. The brain sends signals to your gut. The nerve cells in your gut play a big part in your emotion and intuition. It’s described as an “almost immediate situation understanding” “Immediate knowledge”. Scientists call it your second brain because your ENS (Enteric Nervous System) operates independently from the brain and spinal-chord.

Trusting your gut and following your intuition is often a feeling of resistance and we tend to be spineless and follow our logic because feel safe like in our mothers-womb. The consequence of resisting our inner knowing becomes like two north poles playing the catch me if you can game. Always chasing logic, not purpose.

How can you get more in touch with your intuition, what I would like to call Gutvesting?

-     Don’t fill your mind with garbage

-     Pay attention to the present

-     Meditate and reflect

-     Follow your curiosity

-     Close your eyes and say something untrue…feel the feeling –

say something true, feel the feeling

-     Pay attention to the reaction of your body

-     Do intuition exercises to know the difference between resistance to change or danger

Find your way back to your purpose – you are the change we want to see in the world - just embrace it. Every breath is a gift.

What your Heart feels today, your head will only understand tomorrow.

Start the exploration of why you are here...and bring your compass along.
