Why You Should Experience Code in Vancouver This Winter

If you work on the front end of the web and you're wondering where you'll be and what you'll be doing at the end of January 2018, I have an answer for you: In Vancouver, BC, Canada, at the first ever Experience Code Conference.

Update November 5th, 2017: The Experience Code Conference has been cancelled. More information at experiencecode.com/.

Experience Code is your chance to attend workshops and talks and mingle with some of the leading voices of the modern web: There's Rachel Andrew who talked about CSS Grid when the rest of us were still not aware of flexible boxes, Steve Fisher who has reinvigorated the tech conference scene in Vancouver with Experience Code, Design & Content, and other events, Aaron Gustafson whose work with web standards, accessibility, and progressive enhancement has given the modern web a solid foundation, Henri Helvetica who makes light work of the heavy duty of web performance, hometown hero Stephanie Hobson who helps document the web by making the front end of MDN accessible and user friendly, Tomomi Imura who makes working with data into a literal conversation, Ethan Marcotte who more than a decade ago came up with this novel idea of "responsive" web design, Mina Markham who built the pattern library for the website of the only qualified candidate in last year's Presidential election, some guy named Morten, and conference MC Cecily Walker, helper of people seeking knowledge and information at the Vancouver Public Library. And there's you: Community participant, conversation partner, and peer.

Experience Code is organized by Steve and Shannon Fisher of Republic of Quality, the team behind the other major Vancouver web event you should put on your to-do list for next year: Design & Content Conference. I had the privilege of volunteering for the first Design & Content Conference a few years ago and I was awestruck by the quality of everything from the speakers to the focus on inclusion and diversity to the after party and overall professionalism. Experience Code will be no different, and probably more. And as a bonus you get to enjoy one of the most beautiful and diverse cities in the world: Vancouver.

What are you waiting for? There's no time like the present: Grab your early bird ticket today and let Experience Code set the bar for an amazing 2018!
