Unlocking Success: Embrace Actionable Process Goals Over Dream Boards

and Set ACTIONABLE Process Goals Instead.
Let's be clear,? you should have well defined long term goals.? The problem is that outcome goals do NOTHING but inspire and define your destination.? They're important,? but don't give you any clear actions to achieve your goal.
Outcome goals have serious limitations. ?Furus love to use them because they're sexy and feel good a la "The Secret ".? Except for inspiring you for short, unsustainable periods and keeping the destination in mind,? they are otherwise USELESS and ineffective.? When the going gets tough, and it almost always does,? fluffy feel good nonsense, like outcome goals and positive affirmations, DON'T work except under very specific conditions, if at all.
An example of an outcome goal would be " I will have six pack abs by next summer. "? It's achievable but lacks any plan or action to attain it.? Another would be " I'll be a multi-millionaire living on beachfront property in five years. "?
They're the type of pie in the sky goals furus want you to announce to the rest of the applauding audience who all paid $3,799 to listen to them for the weekend.?
They parade out the one of hundreds or thousands of their former students who actually achieved their BHAG ( Big Hairy Audacious Goal ) and call it "proof".? It would be proof if the other 99% plus who DIDN'T achieve their BHAGs, had. ? Even if only 10% of them did,? it would be impressive,? but that NEVER happens.
Did I mention that outcome goals are virtually or completely dependent on variables OUTSIDE of your control?
Maybe it's just me?? How many outcome goals have you set?? How many have you achieved?
I had a conversation with someone on Zoom who became extremely upset because I thought that her receiving $100 dollars unexpectedly was funny, not proof she manifested it.??
If it were 1800,? I might have to agree because $100 then is equivalent to $2,166.69 in today's currency. ? But since it isn't 1800,? an unexpected $100 is four meals for two at MacDonald's or one nice meal for one to two at a nice restaurant.? Most of us need 20 to 100 such unexpected manifestations EVERY month to pay our bills:-?
But process goals are another story.? They're specific actions you can take that are COMPLETELY within your control to gradually achieve remote long term outcome goals step by step.
If I want a six pack,? I could realistically achieve it in three months,? one if I do a stupidly dangerous diet. But to be conservative let's say six months.?
Nobody complains about achieving success faster than expected, but most complain, and feel like failures when they set unrealistic time frames they fail to meet.
So my process goals could be:
1 ) I will intermittent fast by eating all the HEALTHY food I want for six hours a day,? and fasting ( not eating ) for 18 hours, six days a week.? I can drink as much tea, coffee, water or other zero calorie drinks as I want all day long.
2 ) On Saturday I can eat ANYTHING I want ALL DAY, it's my "cheat day".
3 ) I will do my jumping kettle-bell SWATs ( an exercise I invented ) every second day for 45 minutes.
4 ) On the other days I will ride my bike or walk for 1 hour.

5 ) I will adjust any of the above goals if I don't see progress weekly.?
6 ) I will measure progress weekly using a body fat scale to track my weight and body fat percentage. ?I'll also use a mirror to check the visibility of my six pack UNTIL It's exactly where I want it.
7 ) I will then reduce or eliminate my walking or cycling while slowly increasing my eating window by 30 minutes a week until? I can maintain my six pack and weight indefinitely.
These are ALL actionable process goals I can do that are completely within my control. As I succeed each day,? I can mark it on my calendar and do a "happy dance" to keep me motivated.
UNLIKE an outcome goal I can succeed at my process goals EVERY DAY, just by sticking to the routine.? The outcome goal is ONLY achieved at the end when I've either succeeded or failed.? There's none of the intermediate success or motivation that creates further success through small wins.
The same could be applied to becoming a millionaire over a longer time scale.?
1 ) I will calculate the daily or weekly income I need to make to become a millionaire in X years.?
2) I will make 40 sales calls five days a week.
3) I will calculate my income weekly and adjust my plan based on my income.
4) I will investigate which training, jobs or businesses I could start to make enough income to achieve my goal in X years.
You may not achieve your outcome goal, but you can achieve your process goals that lead to it,? and adjust until you achieve the outcome goal, or decide to give up.?
That's how 99.9% of ALL successful people become successful.
Now that I've finished writing my DAILY article,? I'm going to eat healthy,? go do my BreakThrough Bridge activity.? Then exercise before posting this article and doing more work on LinkedIn. It's my typical Sunday...or any other six to seven days of my week. ?
It's nothing special,? it's just like most other REAL entrepreneurs who are ( more ) likely to eventually achieve their goals.? No "vision board" required.
