In a regional area, you might be working at the only centre in town or just one of a small handful. Families often stay with these centres for years, sending multiple children, so you can build relationships and be part of the family’s lives longer term. While this can be true in cities, with more transient populations and a much wider choice of centres, it’s not always the case.

Let’s face it, driving across the city or sitting on public transport to and from work every day is not the most desirable of experiences! With more affordable housing and a smaller area, you’ll likely be working a short (traffic-free!) drive or even a stroll from your home. That means more time doing what you love and maybe even a sleep-in. ??

#6 Enjoy a higher standard of living?

Generally speaking, regions offer a higher standard of living on almost all indicators for the average wage earner. And, if you have a family, local public schools tend to be smaller, more entwined with the community and often well-funded. ?

It’s not just EEC skills in high demand in our regions. If you are relocating with a partner or family who will also need to find work, opportunities abound. Some industries crying out for skilled workers include hospitality, construction, healthcare, engineering, primary and secondary education, and accounting, to name just a few.
