WHY YOU SHOULD CARE
I usually opt to repost but given the original content I am making an exception. In these videos you can see the reality in Israel these days. The people in the video are my parents, mind you they live nowhere near a military base and yet are forced to exit their vehicle on their way to a routine doctor’s appointment. In the second video is the view from their backyard earlier this afternoon. I am posting this to explain why Israel is doing what it is doing. Agreeing to yet another ceasefire will achieve nothing. Yes, the world can go back to pretending Anti-Semitism doesn’t exist, the world can go back to not having to pick a side, the world can go back to ignoring every other conflict but the reality for Israeli citizens wouldn’t change. Rockets will still be fired at my parents and other Israeli citizens, although granted maybe it’ll be a bit longer until the next round of escalation. After all the Gaza strip seems to run out of every resource aside from rockets.
To all the peace-loving people here in Canada and around the world, newsflash for you all, if you want peace in the Middle East get all the “Freedom fighters” to recognize Israel and lay down their weapons – you’d have peace tomorrow. If Israel lays down their weapons there would be no more Israel. This has been the reality since Israel was founded and very clearly demonstrated time and time again to everyone worldwide during the pro-Palestinian “peace rallies” and on social media. If there was any doubt that this was isolated to just Israel and Palestine the past few weeks should have served as a wake-up call, the same wake-up call from 1933 that you kept snoozing time and time again. As I tell my kids Anti-Semitism is always alive and well, it just takes naps every now and then. It is not normal for Jews to have to think twice about sending their kids to school or about participating in trick or treating because someone may notice the mezuza on the doorpost.
Now to the really sad part, I was naively thinking of trying to convince my parents to come here for a visit until things subside but it is absolutely clear that the safest place for Jews in the world is in Israel. Most of the leadership around the world is too scared to stand up against the false narratives and bends over backwards to accommodate the Palestinian “cause”. Have you ever stopped to think about the “cause”? What is that cause? River to the sea, is that the cause? What do they really want? They don’t want Israel to exist, that’s the “cause”.
I’m sure a lot of people think Israel deserves this after all they are “occupiers” and are “oppressing” the Palestinians and are committing “genocide”. Firstly, the Jewish people’s claim to the land dates back to the Old Testament, so I’m not sure why the world buys the “occupier” nonsense. Using that logic, the US, Canada and Australia to name a few are all established on occupied land so they should cease to exist. In 1947 Israel agreed to the land that was allocated to them, the other side did not, started a war and lost. In war you win, or you lose, I don’t see everyone rushing to have Russia give back Crimea or Canada rushing to return land to the First Nations. If Israel had lost land in any of the wars they fought, you wouldn’t see the world arguing that it should be returned to them. The world seems to be obsessed with Jews and Israel and has a hard time accepting that Jews are allowed to win.? Secondly, there are a lot of Palestinians that live and work in Israel, there are Palestinian members of parliament, Israel even allows workers from Gaza to enter and collect intel for Hamas which gets used to develop a plan to murder the most Jews in one day since the Holocaust. Lastly, Israel is not very good at genocide, the population of the Palestinian people has been steadily rising. So, if Israel is not an occupier, not an oppressor and not committing genocide what are we left with? We are left with images of innocent people in Gaza who according to Hamas officials are not their responsibility. Wait, what didn’t they elect Hamas? Hamas doesn’t care about their own people? Shocking! Hamas has zero value for life on either side of this conflict and is making a mockery out of the UN and international law. If you really had peaceful intentions, would you place your headquarters under a hospital and potentially endanger your own civilians? The loss of innocent lives on both sides is tragic but has been brought on by Hamas. Israel is far from perfect but is saving the Palestinians from Hamas, let them fight your fight as this fight will be at your doorstep sooner than you know it.

Yes, you are allowed to be against Hamas and still support a two-state solution, you actually need the former to have the latter.
I have rambled on enough I will leave you with this, you need to educate yourselves about the history of the region before you form an opinion, you need to look at all the facts and judge this situation fairly and have the courage to stand up for what’s right. Look up how Muslims were treated in the Soviet Union or China, their “support” for the Palestinians is just to weaken the US, they could care less about a Palestinian state. It is easy to sit on the sidelines and not get involved but that’s how you empower the “peaceful” mobs that block the highways, preach for violence, vandalize Jewish businesses and institutions all in the name of the “cause” the cause to wipe Jews off the face of the earth.
The only thing these “freedom fighters” are fighting is freedom. You may not care about Jews but you should care about freedom.
Well spoken and written Our fight against Jew Hatred needs to be fought so that our children and grandchildren can live with pride of their heritage It is our responsibility to provide a safe space to move freely in this world

1 年Well said. I'm sharing this. I wish your family the best. Your statement, "the safest place for Jews in the world is in Israel." blew my mind a little, and I'm glad you explained that.

1 年Thank you for sharing Raviv Israel, I think you captured the situation so well. Even with your mother laying on the ground as rockets are in the air and sirens ringing out, I agree with you, Israel is the safest place for Jews right now.
