1. The average cost of a slave worldwide is roughly $90. Human
trafficking is a $30-plus billion industry, and it is the second
largest source of revenue for terrorists around the world.*
2. With almost 21 million victims globally and more than 293,000
American youth at risk of sexual commercial exploitation and
trafficking each year, this heinous crime must be stopped.*
3. Human trafficking is a burden on the economy. How? It costs more to rehabilitate victims than to put in place prevention programs. Victims of sexual slavery are often forced to have sex from 20-50 times a day on average. The issues of trauma are so complex that they require intensive therapy and a full-circle of support.
4. Human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery, exists right here in Southwest Florida.

9 年We care because we are human. We all have a mother and a father. It's just that most of us are fortunate to have known and been raised by them. Life is precious. Families and the family unit as a whole are worth protecting. We keep doing it one conversation at a time.
