So often I see women who want to start their own business get in such a big rush to become an instant success? When you are in a hurry mistakes usually follow. The corporate model is all about being effective, efficient and creating a bold impact. So building your own business should mimic "some" of the steps. When I left my job in 2016 I knew many years earlier that I needed to start the planning process. My process was simple, just start practicing my next. I became a serial entrepreneur on the side aka I had a side gig or as some would say a side hustle. Everything was legal but I begin to offer test and out my massive skill set to test out what could be a potential business for me.
I started a photography business because I loved taking images of women and showing them in a positive/bold way! It allowed my creative juices to flow on the weekend as well as back at my corporate career! I began to see alternative ways to accomplish things at work. I inspired others! I helped them to believe that they were capable of performing at higher levels! I knew that to be a fact because if I could manage 6/7 locations, run a weekend photography business, be a mom, wife, sister, friend and an active community member then so could they! I was never in a rush to become the most popular photographer. My goal was simple~ be the best! Now I've added be bold enough to do more than I ever thought possible.
So if you are in a 9-5 career and you desire more you don't have to quit your career. No please don't do that! You really can have it all. Don't rush the process just know that it will take time to build and grow your passion!

7 年Willette Brye yes indeed! The side gig totally kept me in motion! It was also a big stress reliever.

7 年I appreciate you sharing how your side gig allowes you to get those creative juices flowing. I have been in jobs that did not afford much in the way of exercising creativity, and in came my freelance work. Everyone should have something that feeds his or her creative bent. We were made to create. Thanks Ramonica!
