Why You Need A “Morning Formula” and How Creating One Is Easier Than You Think

“Gracias, gracias, gracias. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Those are the first words that come out of my mouth every day. Nothing else comes before that.

It’s become a massive habit.

I’ve tested it, and if I do it just a couple days, it really does nothing. Now turn it into a year thing and there’s where things take a 180° turn.

The Morning Formula is something for you, no one else. It’s something that is designed to take your life into control.

Life on your terms.

It’s all about prioritizing oneself before anything else - so you can show up 100%.

You're not being Egotistical

What’s funny is that people think that by prioritizing yourself you’re being egotistical. But the opposite it’s true.

It’s actually when you don’t take care of yourself when you don’t put yourself first when you don’t invest energy into improving yourself, that you will deliver poorly to those around you.

Kind of doing a disservice to them - that be your wife, your kids, or your colleagues at work.

Putting yourself first is the best thing you can do for others, and the morning formula helps you just that.

There are Two Parts to it - Physical Then Mental

There are two parts to your Morning Formula - a physical and a mental, in that order.

Starting with the physical aspects. Those for me include sleep, cardio, which is separate from exercise (they are different), and nutrition.

Taking care of these put me in a position of strength to…

  • Sleep puts me in a good (or sometimes not so good) mood. I know I've slept well when I sigh in the morning.
  • Cardio allows me to reflect and push my strength.
  • Exercise makes me feel like I'm a strong human being and hence affects my self-image (mentally).
  • Nutrition is eating good quality (not just healthy) things.

Then I Focus on the mental aspects of the morning formula.?The more you take care of the physical aspects, the better you’ll be positioned to improve the mental aspects on a daily basis.

The Mental Also Means Spiritual

Another massive point.

There's a thin line between the mental and spiritual sides. To the point where some people have a hard time differing from what "thought" is feeling and what thought is thought.

After years of grappling with this concept, I've come to realize that it is easier than you think. And it all relies on stillness.

The thing is that we've never been taught how to live and feel. It's just something that we never "Stop" doing.

So it's time for you to get started. It has to work for you.

And if you're not accustomed to it, the first this is to build a habit (go past 21 days).

We have some meditations that can help you supercharge this area - ask us for them! You've got to start somewhere!

Last but not least, tell yourself "I am ready to bring enormity to the world".?

Tell us your thoughts!

PS: Remember, it has to be on your terms, not in any guru's terms... :)

I love every word of this - you brought together many aspects into a cohesive whole: phsyical, mental, spiritual. Gratitude consistently over time. Quality food. Stillness. Not in any guru's terms. What a powerful article that shows you don't haver to be complicated or long to say it all. Thank you for this Gonzalo Hurtado, MBA, MSc.

The only thing my morning requires is a deep meditation. You're so right there's a fine line between the mental and spiritual. I save my cardio for midday. It's like having an afternoon coffee. Everyone is different and slowly should start to become their own guru. Their own leader.

This is great! Especially since I've started working from home I'm seeing the benefit of cardio in the morning. My morning routine is now everything! ?? ??
