Why You Must Not Buy Ghana Likes

So I have been experimenting with the new Facebook algorithm and it's crazy and not fair to small business owners. Since the beginning of 2016, I have been trying to find a way to give my clients the best Facebook marketing experience. I failed in some and succeeded in some of the experiments, not at the loss of my clients but at my loss. All the same, it as been a great learning experience.
You might be wondering why I say as a Ghanaian small business owner you must not buy Ghana likes to your Facebook page, even if you are not a small business owner, whatever your needs are when it comes to Facebook pages, don't go for the Ghana likes when you are paying Facebook to advertise for likes. My reason is simple. Now, look at this scenario; Does it make sense to pay for a TV advert and you are told you are not supposed to display your contact number or your location, and that, it you should a different amount if you are to do so? Now that is what Facebook is doing with pages.
You will pay Ghana likes which I think is very expensive compared to likes from the Asian countries. Now hold on! Don't freak out, haha....I know you are asking what Asian likes got to do with a Ghanaian small business owner or a public figure or a celebrity. Well, you should be interested in that. If you are already paying for Ghana likes, you will agree with me that almost 90% of the people who you bought to the page don't see your posts unless you pay to reach them. Now, tell me; does it make sense to buy people to a page and at the same time pay to reach them? If the price is the same as the Asian likes it wouldn't bother me at all but you are paying a higher price for the Ghana likes.
The amount you use in getting the Ghana likes can give you twice of the Asian likes. Then after getting the Asian likes to the page, you need to now target Ghanaians with your posts, meaning you would have to boost your posts and target Ghanaians for engagement, and that boost can also bring in some few Ghanaian likes as well. So you are killing two birds with one stone.
The more reason you need the Asian likes is to play on the psychology of the people who you would target for post engagement. I call it "The psychology of numbers on social media." It works the magic. The first time visitors would think you have something interesting that is why you have that huge following, so they would also follow and eventually become clients or ardent fans. Imagine you having a competitor and thee person is having huge following than you have, "the psychology of numbers on social media" will bet the deciding factor.
I remember telling a client of mine to let us go for the Asian likes because the Ghana likes are expensive and that we can get twice if not thrice of the Asian likes using the same budget. And then target our posts at the Ghanaians. She doubted whether it will work, but I told her to trust me. She did and then later came back that she needs more of the Asian likes because the strategy is working.

8 年Depends on who you're selling a particular product to. First of all, you do not need to buy likes, there's a big disconnect between likes and making sales. Remember Facebook algorithm in itself is not favourable so build a genuine brand and you'll get the likes

8 年The idea of Facebook Marketing is to build an audience then sell to that audience once you have their attention. I'm not sure purchasing Asian likes is the right way to go if you want to build a Ghanaian audience. Remember that page likes do not necessarily mean sales. It's up to you to turn that into revenue. View it as building a sales pipeline, what you are suggesting is like building a fictitious pipeline so you can meet you sales pipeline targets. You need to rethink your strategy.
