Why you might need an adventure
A restless feeling can be hard to shake. For anybody who’s stuck in a slump, the answer may be embarking on a new adventure, Arthur C. Brooks writes. Make no mistake, these adventures don’t require a transcontinental odyssey or a harrowing brush with danger. The spirit of adventure is trying something new and opening yourself up to the possibility of discovery; that can look like investing in an unfamiliar experience, picking up a fantasy book, or making a reservation at that restaurant you’ve been meaning to visit for months. “When life is getting you down,” Brooks writes, “the answer is not more comfort but less.”
