Why you may need a variable Pitch Propeller for your UAV
one study has shown that a variable pitch propeller design can increase the maximal takeoff weight of the aircraft and improve power efficiency in hover, especially if the load varies for different missions......
T-MOTOR actual measurement data?is at the bottom
From the perspective of flight mechanics, multi-rotor UAVs rely on changes in propeller speed to adjust force and torque, thereby realizing the flight motion control of multi-rotor UAVs. However, for the blades of multi-rotor drones, on the one hand, the larger the blade size, the more difficult it is to change its speed rapidly. On the other hand, under heavy load, the rigidity of the blade needs to be further improved. The up-and-down vibration of the non-variable blade will cause the rigid blade to break easily
So that’s why T-MOTOR decide to expand this area, working on a variable-pitch propeller.
However, variable-pitch propellers are not exclusive to large blades. The same applies to small size UAVs with the following requirements:If there is a rapid change in speed like climbing or cruising during flight, and a changeable propeller pitch can well address all situations and keep the RMP at a stable standard.
T-MOTOR has three directions of research, for?your reference
1. The propeller pitch can be customized before being shipped. No need to re-open the mold, which will help you avoid cost-intensive, time-consuming
2. The inner part is compatible with a changeable propeller pitch device which means you can change it by yourself for a given situation
3. Automatically change propeller pitch in real flying time with our automation module design, It is recommended to use with large propellers.
As one of the power components of the UAV, the propeller directly affects the flight status. Select the best solution?by contacting us now.

1 年I see that T Motor suggests using the VPP with larger props, what would be the starting dimensions of compatible props?
