Telecoms 2022 - Why you may need to rethink some of your business strategies

Here as some insights that I found out during 2022, from the polls that you took part in on LinkedIn. Some of them may need you to rethink your business strategies as we plan for 2023.?

54.2% of respondents in Asia-Pacific do not expect to visit their mobile operator store in 2023 and 2024. Malaysians, however, are less ready to abandon their mobile operator stores, with only 40.0% of respondents saying they did not expect to visit their mobile operator store during that time. In stark contrast, 71.4% and 80.0% of Singaporeans and Australians, respectively, prefer to use online channels to deal with their mobile operator.

58.3% of respondents in Asia-Pacific had noticed at least 1 company that had updated its application but not its website between January 2022 and August 2022. Although an in-depth analysis of the results shows pockets of countries, such as Singapore and Australia, where all respondents have noticed this phenomenon, this is not the case everywhere in Asia-Pacific. For example, in Malaysia, only 30% of respondents noticed this phenomenon.

The perception of the importance of DIS availability in Asia-Pacific improved marginally by 2.6%—from 92.0% in 2019 to 94.6% in 2021. While the industry perspective on regulations as a critical enabler has remained relatively unchanged since 2019, respondents selecting ‘solving pain points’ has dropped from 43.5% in 2019 to 37.5% in 2021. There is a rise instead in other critical enablers for DIS with some mobile operators specifying competition to provide better services, technological trends, and cost as some examples.

These are just snippets from the insights that I found in 2022. I am publishing it here to thank you for your support on LinkedIn. Please come back during 2023 to support my LinkedIn polls… ??
