WHY ARE YOU ON LINKEDIN?
I believe the main reason most people are on Linkedin is because of adult peer pressure. Everyone is told that it is the right thing to do. I agree, but unless you are active it’s a waste of time or worse, it’s detrimental
What I suggest to my clients is to take 5-15 minutes of your non-workday & “play around” a little & see what you find. The question you should ask yourself is, What am I trying to achieve? Your searching on Linkedin should be based on the answer to that question. Is it casually or actively looking for a job or looking for new business leads/contacts or it could be anything that you are looking for. Once you start seeing results from your activity, you’ll start replacing some of your “work-time” with Linkedin time.
Linkedin is the best vehicle I know of to help you achieve your career & business goals. But it only works if you put something into it. It’s not magic.
