It's not just a British thing, this rubbish about "don't blow your own trumpet", but it is particularly prevalent here.
Take a few moments to think about all the things you do at work, at home, elsewhere. Loads of them, right? Well, maybe you're not convinced yet - most people don't really know all of the contributions they make.
Here's something you can do
Take a bit of time to make a list of ALL of the things you do. Imagine you had to give someone else a list of everything they'd need to do if they went to your work and did your job. Now do that for all your previous roles and everything you do outside of work.
If you haven't ended up with an impressive list, go back and add all the things you missed. Now think about all of the skills and personal qualities you need to do each one of those things. You'll be amazed at just how many each one of those things represents. Think about the benefits it brings to the people around you. Amazing right?
So now go and do it
I hope you're realizing that you are amazing. So get out there be spectacular. It will make a massive difference to your career: that's not just words, I've noticed that when I show my clients how to articulate the benefits they bring, it makes a massive difference to their happiness and success.
So if you do one thing this month, start to make an inventory of all of your skills and qualities and how you demonstrate them.
Here's to your future success. The world is waiting for you to Be Spectacular.
