Why are you here ?

Why are you here ?

Some thoughts below.

Monday was a day that I used to dread. It was intense.

To be honest, Sunday used to be a very challenging day for me when I was back working a 9-5 - I used to count the hours throughout the day, literally. I get goose-bumps thinking about it.

I often get asked today “how do I know if I am in the right career” — my auto reply “ how do you feel on Sunday regarding going back to work”?

Deep down when I was working corporate, there was a part of me that was slowly dying. There was a creative part of me that was like a plant with no water - it was withering away. The creativity was evaporating.

Intuitively, and on a deep subconscious level, I was aware there was a higher calling for me, however, I was mentally stuck.

Thankfully, I was made redundant - it was truly a gift, a blessing in disguise.

I believe the biggest risk is not starting a company, it is staying in a job that does not light you up.

If you choose to spend your life, which primarily consists of work, not inspired with why you do what you do, that to me is HIGH RISK.

I always tell people “if you want to experience transformation, at a profound level - start a business”.

Becoming a founder for me has been very polarising, both very ugly and sexy.

There is no limit on the amount of money that I could spend on personal development, that would give me the experiences or learnings that I have encountered since becoming a founder.

For me, my deepest transformation, both personally and professionally, has been cultivated since becoming a founder.

I got my first taste of founder life when I started my 1st business, Cohen Handler.

Turning buying property into a career gave me a taste of freedom from the corporate jungle.

Boy did the taste of freedom feel good!

I worked more hours, however, I f’king loved it.

I cared immensely about my vision and why.

What looked like work to others, was play for me.

I have been fortunate enough to become a founder many times now - it invigorates me every-time, it's a form of self expression.

Everyone is a creator.

Creativity is a fundamental aspect of being human. It’s our birthright. And it’s for all of us.

You exist as a creative being in a creative universe. A singular work of art.

We are all living founders.

The founder life is a privilege.

It took me some time to break out of the structures and limitation that education system puts us in. If we learn to look out, opportunities to grow, build and create are everywhere.

Indeed, the traditional education system often neglects the development of entrepreneurial skills and creativity essential for navigating the complexities of life. Embracing the Founder life mindset encourages individuals to take ownership of their journey, innovate, and create meaningful impact. ??

One can’t explain that stuck feeling truly until they are free from it. I used to despise Mondays, now I don’t think they are any different to Friday. Cheers for sharing Ben
