This is a mistake I still see a lot of people make. They invest all this time and effort working out and at the end of the day they don’t get the payoff for all their hard work. Yes exercise is important but that alone will not get you the body you desire.
What it comes down to - watch what you are eating!
You CANNOT outwork a bad diet!
In order to burn fat your body has to be in what’s called a “negative energy balance” by being in a caloric deficit daily.
A caloric deficit means any shortage in the amount of calories consumed relative to the required amount of calories for maintenance of your current body weight.
1 pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories, therefore you need to burn 3500 to lose 1 pound. So, in general, if you cut about 500 calories a day from your diet you’ll be well on your way to losing 1 pound of fat a week.
How can you cut your calories?
1. Avoid high fat foods as these tends to have more calories per gram
2. Portion Control – Eat on your smaller plates to control your portions
3. Choose green vegetables and protein as your main food source
Follow these 3 tips and you are sure to be cutting your calories by a decent amount!
