Why you don't follow up?

Dear All,

I was inspired today by @Karen Tisdell who sang the praises of using this platform and publishing newsletters - so here goes! I look forward to your kind support!

There’s a very good reason why you have stopped following up with your prospects! Follow-up is more about what you can get rather than the prospect. You know you have an "agenda" and that makes you feel uncomfortable. You also know they may say NO and that is also making you feel uncomfortable.

Remember these Sales Statistics!!

The real reason you don't follow up is this!!

You have gotten into your head instead of theirs!!

What do I mean?

  • You have convinced yourself they are not interested;
  • You have convinced yourself they are too busy;
  • You believe they don’t need or want what you are selling;
  • You think the price will not be in their budget;
  • You have made so many excuses not to make that follow-up call so you don’t!

Does this sound familiar??

Stop sabotaging your business. Get out of your head and get into theirs today!

Make the call?? to find out what is best for them! How can you start a conversation and never go back to hear their view on the discussion? When you follow up, this shows that you value them enough to go back to hear their point of view.

80% of your success is based on your Mindset and if you keep telling yourself you are following up you are setting yourself up for failure! Psychologists have correctly said that "when one is truly ready for a thing, it puts in its appearance."

Think about the strange power of a child, they are always excited to try something new. Your positivity and excitement to share your service or products are attractive when it shines through in conversation.

Let's now talk about the word, "CLOSE". You will note it has the word LOSE in it!

Every time you try to CLOSE someone you may LOSE them. No one likes the feel of someone trying to close them. You don't enjoy the feeling and your potential buyer doesn't like it either. Double Negative! You cannot work at your peak in that negative mindset.

When you have started the conversation right, getting to the right decision is a natural progression. You are looking for people who "get" what you are saying. You cannot say the wrong thing to the right person.

Closing suggests the end of a task. You close a cupboard door or?you close a jar... you get what I mean.?

When your customer says YES, then it is the start of the relationship. NOT THE CLOSE!

Don't get closing confused with asking for a decision. By asking for a decision you are hopefully opening a door, opening their mind, and opening their heart.
