Why are you asked for medical information?

Why are you asked for medical information?
Employees frequently ask why they are required to fill out personal medical information forms by insurers. This is requested for a variety of reasons.
One instance is when a new group begins and the insurer assumes an unidentified risk. Before accepting the case, they may question the employee to rule out the possibility of a catastrophic drug claim or a risk to life or disability. If accepted, you will get the benefit; otherwise, your coverage can be restricted to the sums already approved.
The second scenario can happen if your income grows faster than usual. This might be the result of a change in the number of hours worked, such as going from part-time to full-time, a change in the position where the pay is significantly higher, a change to commissions, or just a major annual salary boost.
It is crucial that you complete and precisely fill out these documents and deliver them to the insurer upon request. The insurer should receive all submitted information, which is private. You should retain a copy for your own records even though your employer DOES NOT require one.
To ensure that your plan coverage is not impaired, if the insurer requests further particular information from you, please respond as quickly as possible.
In the event that you ever need to make a claim, we (together with your employer) want to make sure you receive the full benefit coverage to which you are entitled. When you least expect it, a delay in submitting this information or refusal to do so could lead to a lower benefit amount. You and your family are both protected by adequate coverage.
