Why writing skills, subject matter knowledge, and analytical thinking are essential for using an AI Text generator
If you have missed out on the latest AI hype, you’ve probably been hiding under a rock. After playing with several AI engines, I noticed that anyone could generate basic content. However, creating qualitative content requires a bit more skills than just asking basic questions in a chat.
Using an AI text generating engine like ChatGPT for instance requires specific skills in order to effectively produce high-quality, coherent text. Skills including:
Language and writing proficiency
I found that language and writing skills are essential when using an AI text generator, as the output will only be as good as the input. This means that the user needs to be able to effectively communicate their ideas and thoughts in a clear and concise manner, which requires a strong command of language, including grammar, vocabulary, and syntax. In addition, the user should have a good understanding of writing techniques, such as structure, organisation, and style to produce cohesive and well-written text.
Subject matter knowledge
Secondly, subject matter knowledge is important when using an AI text generator, as it helps to effectively guide the output of the machine. The AI relies on the input it receives to generate text, so the user needs to have a deep understanding of the topic at hand in order to provide accurate and relevant information. This includes being familiar with the key concepts, terminology, and sources related to the topic. Without some solid foundational knowledge of the subject, the AI may produce text that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Analytical thinking
And finally, analytical thinking is another key skill necessary when using an AI text generator. This involves the ability to analyse and evaluate information, think critically, and solve problems. The user needs to be able to take the output of the AI and analyse it for accuracy, coherence, and relevance. You'll need to be able to identify any errors or inconsistencies in the text and adjust their input accordingly. In addition, users need to be able to think creatively and come up with new ideas and perspectives to guide the AI in generating unique and original text.
Overall, using an AI text generating engine like ChatGPT will require a combination of all of the above. These skills enable the user to effectively communicate ideas, provide accurate and relevant information, and analyse and evaluate the output of the AI to produce high-quality text. Without these skills, the output of the AI may be inaccurate, incomplete, or poorly written, making it difficult to use effectively.
