Why working harder doesn't work and what to do instead!

Working harder has been a crucial part of your success so why say it doesn't work? Hold that thought because I would like to share with you my appreciation for the brilliant and hardworking clients I get to work with each week and the strategies that work for them. Here's a few things I've noticed about you.?

  1. Big Brained:?you are really?clever, you plan several steps ahead and?you have great?vision. You're often held back by fellow-leaders which is?frustrating and it makes you doubt yourself.?
  2. Integrity: You are an authentic leader and your values include hard work and personal integrity. In a place where these are not valued, you struggle to get heard.??
  3. People Centred: You care a lot about your team and creating a sustainable future. It means you're often the buffer?between bad practices and your team. You advocate for others and it costs you.

Why Great Qualities?≠ Success

All these qualities are positive so why do fabulous people need support and guidance??The reason they do is that?not every organisation values these qualities AND acquiring the skills to operate at a senior level requires an updated strategy.?It means 1) Getting Clarity 2) Making a Plan and 3) Making the transformation so you can make the impact you want.?You can do it too by following the same process

Why Working harder doesn't work

It's so tempting to keep trying the same thing that used to work but doesn't any more.?Why is it not working any more??It's not working because you're playing in a different league and you need a strategy to match it. Research (Reid, 2015) tells us that people can't tell the difference between those who work hard and those who 'appear to' work hard - WTF. It's a bit shocking at first but it's actually what we know already in that it's how the person presents themselves that makes the difference but there is something you can do about it.
