Why work for us? Because what we do matters.
European Broadcasting Union (EBU)
Promoting Public Service Media in Europe | We operate Eurovision ?? and Euroradio ??
We aim to secure a sustainable future for public service media because, without public media, democracies worldwide would be under threat. Disinformation and misinformation – fake news in other words - would have a free ride.
Our audiences trust in the content we deliver; that it’s accurate and of the highest quality.
They trust that we’re accountable for what we do; that we’re independent and not pushing individual agendas. We think that’s worth fighting for.
We deliver services to 112 Member broadcasters from across the globe. From sharing our expertise on the challenges posed by artificial intelligence or sharing events including the world’s biggest live music event, the Eurovision Song Contest.
None of this would be possible without our people.
We have more than 40 different nationalities working at our head office in Geneva and at satellite offices worldwide.
We care about providing a great working environment that includes flexible working patterns, career development, staff benefits and training opportunities in return for your skills and experience.
How to find out more:

Melanie Brown Cocchetti, our Director of Human Resources, explains why working at the EBU could be a smart and rewarding career move:

Is it possible to make a difference in your workplace? Here’s why I think so.
??? It really is all about our people.
With close to 300 professionals from over 40 different nationalities across our offices worldwide, and 230 of them working with us in Geneva, we wouldn’t be who we are without such a rich diversity of experiences, cultures, generations and backgrounds on our team.
As Director of Human Resources, I can definitely say there’s something special about the EBU. Seeing how committed our staff are to the work they do, I know I’m in the right place.
Even after six years here, I feel just as energised about my job as when I started. As for many organizations, the past years have been particularly challenging with COVID-19 followed immediately by the war in Ukraine. We’ve embraced these challenges by offering a flexible work environment to our staff and, more generally, by acknowledging that our employees’ well-being, growth, safety and sense of belonging can be a significant driver of our success and engagement levels.
We’ve adapted individually and as an organization, from one day to the next. Our staff have pulled together and delivered incredible work despite the challenging circumstances.
The EBU doesn’t run on commitment alone, though. We want staff to feel that they can shape our organization and make a difference whatever their role, gender, nationality, experience or department. We welcome staff input and have various forums for feedback, whether through our regular staff surveys or our monthly live Q&As with senior management.
For example, we listened to our employees about the importance of flexible working arrangements. We made changes to the way we work in a very short time. Our staff are welcome to work from home up to three days a week depending on their country of residence, and we continue to apply flexibility in our work schedules and are open to considering other work locations. Innovation is also key for us and we are working on a compressed four day work week pilot scheme.
We have three dedicated staff working groups tackling issues relating to topics that our employees have identified as priorities in our last surveys: Growth & Recognition, Work-Life Balance and Working Environment. We want to find better ways of working for all.
And we want our employees to feel fully supported in their everyday life. We’ve launched a wellbeing programme with courses on mental health awareness, resilience, mindfulness and more. We also support managers on this new challenge of managing hybrid teams whilst managing their direct reports with more empathy. We’re encouraging everyone to find a course that resonates with them.
At the EBU, everyone has a voice. It shapes our culture, it enables us to learn from each other, respect and appreciate our different experiences and backgrounds. It makes for rich collaborations and creative thinking. It's what makes the EBU an inspiring place to work. I hope you’ll consider joining us.”
