It’s so great to see this article - I (and my colleagues) fought hard on this in my previous school to not replace workshops with Makerspaces (and unfortunately lost the battle). Woodworking provides such a rich learning experience of material properties, processes, tools and tooling, to also pure joy of having built something with your own hands. It’s sad and frustrating that decision makers are not listening to practitioners and put budgets above student experiences.
