"Why Women Should Consider Golf: The Benefits of Playing a Lifetime Sport"
Ever since I met my husband who is deeply entrenched in the field of Golf – everyone who meets us mostly assumes I play the sport too. I hummed and hawed my way through for many years of course – citing reasons ranging from busyness in life to ‘it just gives me free time to have the men go off golfing’ ??
Now that I work in this field myself – I have come across many women golfers who are enjoying the sport for many varying reasons. Finally getting inspired to get over my own laziness and inertia to take it up myself.
So here are 7 reasons why women should seriously consider Golf -
1. Great exercise: Golf is a great way to get exercise. Walking 18 holes can easily burn over 1,000 calories, and swinging a golf club engages many muscles throughout the body.
2. Socialization: Golf is a social sport that allows you to connect with other players. You can play with friends or join a league to meet new people and build relationships.
3. Mental stimulation: Golf requires concentration and focus, which can improve your mental acuity and reduce stress. It also provides a break from the daily routine and allows you to enjoy nature. A friend described her on-course time as the ‘Zen window’ in a busy life.

4. Business opportunities: Golf is often associated with business, and playing golf can help you build relationships with colleagues and clients.
5. Lifelong sport: Golf is a sport that can be played for a lifetime. You can continue to play as you age, and it can be enjoyed with family and friends.
6. Competitive opportunities: Golf provides opportunities for both casual and competitive play. You can join tournaments, play against others, or just compete with yourself to improve your game.
7. Accessible: Golf courses are found in many locations around the world, making it accessible to women everywhere. Makes for a great fun outing especially in some really scenic golf clubs around the worls.
Overall, playing golf provides physical and mental benefits, social opportunities, and a chance to enjoy the outdoors. Hopefully sometime in the future I shall even post about having played on the course myself!
