Why Women in Sales Rock and What You Can Learn From Them

I couldn’t let the month of October pass us by without recognizing Women in Sales Month

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work for and with some amazing women and women owned businesses.

Currently, I’m working with 3 different sales teams that are predominately made up of women sales leaders, so I thought I’d share some of the ways they’ve influenced and inspired me-

This is what they all have in common:

Her Approach

All of these excellent sales women harness their intuition and empathy to connect. Great communicators, she is intentional in her choice of words, engaging potential clients from opening dialogue to closing. She knows how to build rapport and retain clients through her mastery of emotional intelligence.

 Her Dedication

Goal-oriented, she meets each day prepared to succeed. While motivated by the #s and goals, she is not ruled by the sale alone. The key to her confidence lies in hours of research, preparation, and ultimately in her relentless persistence to win.

Navigating challenges with ease these women inspire me to do the same.

Her Drive

Women in sales know that their very presence makes a difference. Trailblazers, they pave the way to a more inclusive and productive workplace. In other words, they OWN it!

As Barbara Giamanco, CEO of Social Centered Selling, explains in her article Women in Sales: Why Your Sales Team Needs More Women, “Companies with higher levels of gender diversity in their sales force significantly outperformed on their revenue goals over those sales teams who did not have high numbers of women among their ranks.”

They’re Lifelong Learners

Committed to excellence they know iron sharpens iron. They make sure to stay abreast on the latest books, webinars, and resources to perfect an already amazing craft.

To all my female colleagues, know you are appreciated.

Thank you for being you and for persevering and making HUGE gains in a historically male dominated field. Thank you for inspiring me to be better in what I do and for leveling up our profession!
