Welcome to the first issue of the P.I.T Stop newsletter! I came up with this idea while driving home the other day.
What is it? A biweekly newsletter designed for women chiropractors and health care practitioners to consume in those in between moments while hiding in the bathroom (or your car). I'll be sharing practical insights on how to grow your Profit, Impact and Time-Freedom, ie your PIT.
This week I've been pondering what my own Impact in the world is meant to be. I truly believe our lives are an evolving journey that take us closer to what our true purpose is on this earth. Like many of us chiro's and health practitioners, what took me to school was more than just wanting to join the health field.
It was about making real changes in people's lives. It was about providing a health care experience that actually was about health. It was about the transformation my personal health went through and that I saw happen before my eyes in other chiropractic patients before I even started school.
I went down this path of education and entrepreneurship because I want to have an impact in the world. I want to be well compensated for it. And I want to have mastery over my time.
But then I got to school, and even before I graduated quickly found myself caught between two worlds.
On the one hand there was me loving what chiropractic can do for the health of the world and the possibility of a new health paradigm. On the other was the constant fight against an institution that’s designed for disease management, and business and success models that were designed by men.
My own journey through that hot mess resulted in a massive practice with massive overhead, two wrist surgeries, total physical and emotional burnout and my retirement from practice by year 10.
While I created some level of impact in my community, I had no idea what profit in business actually was or how you created it, and time-freedom was a pipe dream.
I hired many coaches, spent thousands of dollars on learning business and how to market, lead a team and do all the things I thought I was supposed to. And yet, something was alway missing, or didn't quite sit right with me, or called me to be someone I didn't truly like or relate to. It was quite frankly, traumatic on all fronts.

In all of my healing and reflection from my own practice and entrepreneurial journey thus far, I've realized something--women need to do it differently.
We need to take ownership of building the business and practice we truly love and that provides for us both financially and emotionally. We need to take ownership of the impact we were born to make in the world.
To do that, we need a few things:
When all of this comes together, you then have what I call a Gemstone Practice. A practice that sustainably grows your Profit Impact and Time-Freedom, that leverages your knowledge and zone of genius and not just the service you provide, and that can make money without you present.
When we do that, everyone wins. And in my dream, the face of healthcare starts to change. One woman standing up to say "My?practice,?my?way" at a time.
My question to you this week:?Are you already building a Gemstone Practice, or are you following the status quo and doing things you don't really enjoy? Another way to look at it, are you happy and fulfilled in your practice, or do you feel like something is missing?
Ready to do something radically different and build a practice and business you truly love?
