As an expert in corporate leadership, I couldn't help but be pleased when I read an article in the Harvard Business Review that highlighted the unique strengths and abilities of women in the business world.
Throughout my years climbing the corporate ladder, I have found men to be excellent mentors and role models in the business world. This is not to say that I would not want to work for a woman, but rather that I have learned how to succeed in the corporate world by emulating the behaviors and attitudes of successful men. This is because in the upper echelons of the corporations I have worked in, it was primarily men.
In the past, I've had to compartmentalize my emotions in order to excel in my career, often at the expense of my personal life and health. But, over time, I've come to realize that the business world is evolving and becoming a more compassionate place. Women, I believe, are naturally better equipped to face this change as they are able to connect with others more authentically, without having to suppress their emotions.
As men adapt to this shift in the business landscape, it's important for them to embrace a more balanced approach to leadership, one that includes both masculine and feminine qualities. This is not because women are inherently better leaders, but because it's necessary for men to evolve and stay competitive in an industry that is becoming more cooperative.
When I was last on stage to speak to a group of women about the importance of a heart-centered approach to business, I was told my message was too "touchy-feely". I was appalled since it was a group full of women and soon realized they too had been indoctrinated in the belief that to be effective in business you can't bring a compassionate heart to the table. I giggled because I realized that comment was me more than ten years ago. However, with years of experience and wisdom under my belt, I now confidently coach both men and women on how to find the perfect balance of strength and compassion in their leadership styles.
In my best-selling book "Corporate Code: A Bottom Up Perspective on Great Leadership," I discuss what makes a great leader and the four pillars of great leadership; Authentic Compassion, Trust, Courage, and Service. My book although complete in its efforts to define the language necessary to navigate the corporate ecosystem it defines only the basic understanding of what it needed to move forward. I refer you to the book below for a deeper dive in to the necessary understanding in creating transformative shifts within your organization.
Recently, through my publishing company RMPStudio, I had the pleasure of publishing a book by Pauline Crawford PHD Entreprenology . entitled "The Power of Authentic Harmony." This book has recently been listed as a best new release on Amazon. In her book, Dr. Crawford expertly discusses the way forward for both men and women, emphasizing the importance of understanding both feminine and masculine personas. She goes into depth about the significance of understanding each other's differences in order to work together more effectively. As a pioneer in her field, she delves deep into uncharted territory and, with wit and charm, lays out a gender dynamics map. This clear map lays the groundwork for what is to come in the ever-changing landscape of men and women in the workplace.

In the end the research is clear. It will be women leading the way forward in business not because we are better (although I am inclined to think that we are) but because women's frame of mind is a cooperative one and one that is exponentially being embraced by both women and men.
