There are many wires and cables around us not only inside our home but also everywhere outside.
Wires and cables require insulation because there are various elements and factors that could damage them and affect their function such as weather,corrosion,crushing etc.
Therefore insulation is necessary in a variety of wire and cable applications. What kind of material used well to protect the wires? Now many experts are passionate for fluoropolymer FEP. FEP tubing is a natural fit here given its electrical properties and overall cost.
What is FEP?
Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) is a copolymer of hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene. It differs from the PTFE resins in that it is melt-processable using conventional injection molding and extrusion techniques.
FEP is very similar with fluoropolymers PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFA (perfluoroalkoxy polymer resin). FEP and PFA both share PTFE's useful properties of low friction and non-reactivity. But FEP is more easily formable using conventional injection molding and extrusion methods. FEP is softer than PTFE and melts around 270 °C.? It is a heat stress cracking resistant plastics and widely used for jacket and insulation of wire and cables.

Melting Point is around 270 ℃.
