Why Williamsburg is still so Up-and-Coming

Why Williamsburg is still so Up-and-Coming

You want to live in New York City.

Everyone does.

But the question is, where?

Mid Town? East Village? West Village? The choices are endless and everywhere is expensive.

CAUTION: I'M ABOUT TO SOUND LIKE A SALESMAN (because, well...I am a salesman.)

What if there was a place that was literally one 5 minute Subway stop away from Manhattan. A place that has brand new buildings popping up on every corner. A place with more culture than a Spike Lee movie.

It's your lucky day apartment searchers because there is such a location. As you guessed, due to the name of this post, it's Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

You know that feeling you get when you walk into a Whole Foods? Imagine that feeling in an entire neighborhood. Beautiful and clean parks. Different cafes on every corner (not Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, but actual unique cafes). Cute little puppies on every street. Lively bars every single night to let off steam.

Please stop reading if this place doesn't sound like it's for you. I'm not here to waste anybody's time.

These new buildings previously mentioned were all built within the last 4 years and have amenities like: - gyms- in-unit or in-building laundry- beautiful roof-decks- extra storage- package rooms- elevators- tenant lounges- parking garages- dishwashers. The list goes on and on. Some actually have daycares. One even had a self-service pet grooming station!

Unfortunately, since these places are so nice, their prices are comparable to apartments in exciting Manhattan areas. Since this is true, your choice is ultimately:

1) Live in, most likely, a very small apartment in a walk-up building, but in an exhilarating area in Manhattan. This apartment would likely have few to none amenities and be in a building that was built a long time ago.

Or

2) Live in, most likely, a larger apartment in a full amenity building that is in a quaint, cultural, and up-and-coming neighborhood.

There's nothing wrong with choosing option 1. This is a judgment-free post. Option 1 makes for a few minutes less of a commute when you go see a Knicks game or decide to go out in Manhattan.

That being said, if you don't mind spending those extra few minutes for a place that'll make you never want to go on vacation because you'll feel like you're on it already, consider Williamsburg, Brooklyn as a place to call home.
