Why we’re supporting communities with $15 million in donations
At times like this, we all need to play our part. If we do, we’ll be #StrongerTogether.
That’s why we’re taking action as a company to support and protect the communities we operate in with a $15 million global commitment to help fund relief efforts around the world. As a globally operating company, with presence in over 150 countries around the world, and 80,000 colleagues, we’re living up to our values and doing what’s right for our people and communities.
The donation will come to life through global, local and brand-led initiatives, targeted to those programs and locations in which we can have the greatest impact. It will involve a combination of financial support and in-kind donations of our products, which can help to provide sustenance to communities and individuals in need.
Our team in China already donated approximately $1 million in cash and in-kind donations to support relief efforts in the region, including the China Youth Development Foundation. Other teams will contribute too, as will the Mondelēz International Foundation which connects with at-risk communities around the world to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage colleagues to volunteer.
I am grateful for the dedication and professionalism that I see from our colleagues around the world who are working to keep our supply chain going, and contributing to the essential role that the food industry can play during this crisis. By making this additional contribution to support relief efforts, we’re underscoring our commitment to helping to tackle this global crisis.
I firmly believe we’ll be #StrongerTogether
