THIS is why wedding invitations are priceless
Yesterday dinner time (that's lunch for anyone in the South) I went to visit my Gran. It's been a while since I've been, as she's self-isolated for the past three months. She'd been digging through her old photographs and couldn't wait to share them with me.
My vintage loving eyes soon spotted a genuinely old looking shoebox. First thought "I'm having that!", second thought "What the heck is in there...". Images of my mum's childhood hamster appeared in my mind.
Turns out, Gran has kept every single wedding invitation she's ever received!
They were all in there - weddings from my life-time right back to her childhood. The 70s I have to say has a style all of its own...
It occurs to me that wedding invitations aren't only kept as a lovely keepsake, but play a part in a family's history. They hold equal importance as those sepia family photos. The crumpled, thin paper envelopes still have beautiful hand-lettered addresses from decades ago.
I thought to myself, what a lovely legacy to hand down through the family.

4 年How wonderful to see the designs over the decades. Have any made a comeback(like fashion does)?
