"Let me shake your hand," the person said. It won't surprise many of you that I chat with people in stores. This weekend, when I told someone my profession, they thanked me. They said journalists are fundamental to democracy.
This week, I also celebrated the work of women journalists at the International Women's Media Foundation awards and the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism dinner for business journalists. Journalism can be a challenging job for many, and dangerous for some. It was wonderful to come together as a community and highlight great work.
