Why We Write

Why We Write

There’s a great quote in Tim Ferris’s’ book, Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers

On page 575, he interviews Stephen J. Dubner of Freakonomics fame.

Q: What’s the worst advice you hear often?

A: “What what you know.’ Why would I want to write about what little I know? Don’t I want to use writing to learn more?

For me, the morning blog post is a part of the meditation. Before email/slack/twitter etc. consumes my day, it’s a chance for me to just think and explore, forcing me to learn something from the beginning of the post until the end.

Go write about something you don’t know today.
