This Thursday had an important meeting with a bank, i was supposed to reach on time when my driver missed a turn and got stuck in bad traffic, walking distance was 15 minutes only whereas could sense that non moving traffic can take hours which will lead to meeting being cancelled. i was in bad dilemma as this meeting was fixed with various stakeholders marrying their time for critical decision to be concluded and we were longing for this meeting. It is at this point i decided to get out of the car and start running to reach meeting location on time. I am not a regular runner, could just manage to scrape though and reach meeting on time but lesson was well learnt we need to be fit and agile.......... you do not know when you will have to run or gallop for that important timely reach and hence we need to be runners/marathoners to grasp this opportunity if it comes in the stride. No doubt running marathon will not ensure you reach meeting on time but you will also reach pinnacle of success, latest example being Mr N.Chandrasekaran the newly appointed Chairman of Tata Sons who is a regular marathoner.
Running a marathon is not only about running. It is about discipline, tenacity, strength and tolerance.
