Why We ONLY Sell E-MARK Approval and DOT Approval Headlights?

Why We ONLY Sell E-MARK Approval and DOT Approval Headlights?

Hi, this is Fiona. Today I would like to share something I always met from my customers about the DOT and ECE Approval LED headlights.

Lights mean safety, especially headlights, which is indispensable for cars and drivers. Choosing the proper headlights is not easy, there is a lot of parts you have to pay attention to. For example what kind of LED chips do they(lights manufacturers) use? Do they(LED lights) have a fast lumen dissipation or slow lumen dissipation? Do the LED lights I bought have any waterproof problems?  How the headlights dissipate the heat? A lot of these questions you will meet, I can not answer them right now as we are not talking about these, right? However, you can click here to quickly get the top 10 parts you should aware of (just for your reference). Meanwhile, here is a question, did you run into this oncoming traffic like the below picture?

I am sure you did! Sometimes or always?

That's far too bad. It's so dangerous for drivers on each side. You can not imagine what will happen during this blind-time. So there must be some driving rules or regulations (based on your country )to standardize these similar situations. Most countries around the world have adopted one set of standards or others. The standards emphasize that those lights they sold must street legal and meet the regulations adopted by the country.

Here I would like to say something about two commonly used regulations: ECE and DOT.

DOT

  • Created by the United States Department of Transportation, for use on-road in the United States & Canada. Meeting DOT lighting standards guarantees your lights are federally compliant in the United States for visibility, durability, and reliability to secure the safety of others.

ECE

  • Issued by the Economic Commission for Europe(ECE). ECE aims to create a uniform system of regulations relating to vehicle design. The vehicles and related products are tested by the authorized testing institutions, and the compliant products with ECE regulations will receive an E-mark certificate uniformly distributed by UNECE “United Nations Economic Commission for Europe” and then the manufacturer can mark the E logo on the products before they can be approved for sale in the relevant European markets. ECE-compliant guarantees your lights are compliant in the European Union and in non-European countries that have adopted ECE Regulations for visibility, durability, and reliability.

Below is the test point distribution of the beam pattern. The measured value at each test point must meet the requirement of ECE R112.

Just for your review, here I would like to share two of our hot headlights, which have the DOT light pattern as well as the ECE light pattern.

The fast three ways to learn whether the headlights pass the DOT and ECE or not are following.

  • 1. Check the ECE and DOT mark on the outer lens.
  • 2. Check the light pattern if meet the requirements of the DOT standard and ECE standard.
  • 3. Check the official ECE and DOT certificate documents from your supplier.
  • Warm note: For selling well, many factories also marked ECE and DOT logo when their lights did not do any certificates. We suggest that you might learn more ECE and DOT certificate info in case cheated by some Untrustworthy supplier.)

Many of our customers from Europe countries and the US, would like to know the Certificates first, like the DOT certificate or ECE certificate. If the LED lights approved, then they will have more interest in the lights themselves. They think the lights have the related certificates will be more safe and reliable. What about you? Do you have the same feeling?

The above is something about the DOT and ECE, and why we only offer the approved lights. All related information is from the network. Should there is any proposed supplement or advice, please do not hesitate to contact me!
