Why we need food pantries in America?

Food pantries and food banks are non-profit organizations that work on a charity and voluntary basis to provide food to people in need. Food banks are the warehouses and storage units for pounds of food and other edible products that can be donated to the community and food pantries are the further arms of food banks that act as distributing agents. There are numerous food pantries and food banks functional in America as of today and despite them working tirelessly towards the welfare of the community and people; those are not enough. There is an urgent and dire need for more food pantries opening up in the states and more and more people pitching in to ensure that none of the fellow Americans go to bed with an empty belly.

This year has been hard and this pandemic has not affected people on the basis of their caste, creed, or religion. People from all walks of life have been a victim to this pandemic in one way or the other and now is the time that our nation requires us to step up and donate. According to a recent survey 1 in every 7 Americans go to bed hungry and during this pandemic 1 in every 5 Americans has contacted a food pantry. With millions of people losing their jobs and source of income; food pantries have become a lifesaver for millions of families around the country. Food pantries are needed to make sure that not even a single American goes to bed without being fed a healthy and proper meal.

Why is a Food Pantry needed?

Food Pantry is a food charity platform that distributes food among those in need and hungry. Different food pantries have a different functioning strategy depending on the size of the facility, the number of employees, and also the timings and capacity of the facility to serve people but one thing that remains common throughout the food pantry is that they work for the community with absolutely no material or profitable targets in mind and strive to help and give back to the community and also that they function majorly upon the efforts of volunteers and overall donations that they receive.

The recent stats that describe the reach and engagement of food pantries describe the number of people in need and how much platforms like these are needed for people above the privilege line to donate and give back and people below the poverty line to feel safe, protected, and taken care of. Winters are specifically hard and COVID-19 has hit our community with a ruthless and deadly blow this year. Winters experience an overall 13%- 15% increase in the demand for food pantries and this year it has been even greater. America needs to give back, America needs to raise a village together and America needs to help save the community; now is the time and to stand together.

Cache Valley and food drives!

The Cache Community Food Pantry is a non-profit organization working tirelessly in the locale of Cache Valley Utah. This food pantry is determined to make sure that no one in their region and vicinity goes to bed hungry. Matt Whitaker, the Executive Director, and Jake Netzley, the Assistant Director, and all of the volunteers and workers at the pantry have been successfully working towards the welfare and wellbeing of society because of the amazing donations it receives and even the amazing turnout of volunteers the get each week.

The need for food pantries all across the country cannot be emphasized enough because this is how the economic and social gap is filled within a community. This is how the equality level and differences in lifestyles, perspectives, and perceptions are maintained. Giving back, donating, and actively participating in charity are what keep us united as a community and as a nation. Thinking above and beyond self-care is important and critical for one’s personal growth and realization of life-purpose. What I mean to address and connect here is the fact that supporting charity causes and donating towards charity platforms such as food banks and food pantries is not just for those in need but is equally important for those donating as well.

Giving back to the community, taking care of our fellow men, and lending a hand to those falling brings such peace, tranquility, calm, and satisfaction into one’s life that is unmatchable.

The Cache Community Food Pantry has been thriving, feeding and helping people round the clock because of the amazing donors and volunteers. You can also play your part as a responsible and aware citizen and help make more and more food pantries functional so that:

  • You play your part as a responsible and morally aware citizen.
  • You make sure that no one and no family in your capacity and vicinity is going to bed with an empty stomach.
  • Help bridge the economic, social, and financial gap in the community and create a balance among the society through donating and giving back.
  • Ensure that this holiday season, everyone gets to enjoy a happy and healthy meal, clean clothes, and big hearty smiles.

Let’s come together this year and save the community. Let’s come together to beat this pandemic and save those barely staying afloat. Let’s come together to give back and spread smiles. Let’s come together so that everyone has a filled pantry at their homes to get through this winter season and this pandemic. This is not an individual battle; we are all in this together and we will overcome this hand in hand.
