Why we need alternative search engines

As of today, I’m joining Mojeek as CEO. Mojeek is an independent search engine company and the only one independent of Big Tech. In a world seen through the AI-based filters and feeds of Big Tech, there is a real need for alternative ways to find information.

When you use Mojeek your searches are not tracked. Your privacy is fundamentally important to you, and us. Personalising your search results would require us to seek and collect data about you and we don’t do that.

Marc Smith, Mojeek’s founder built the technology stack from the ground up and his small team have done an incredible job getting Mojeek to where it is today. I’m delighted to join them as a UK based company expanding at this challenging time.

We are hiring so will be interested to hear from people who want to join us in building a search engine company which doesn’t harvest your data. And doesn’t use that data to optimise their revenues.
