Why we do, what we do
Forgive me the diversion but I thought I would share this.
It was my birthday yesterday, which is always nice (lol). And though it was a great day, the most amazing part for me was receiving a letter from my wife, reproduced in part below. It might put a smile on your face, as it did for me. And further to that it perfectly outlines the reason I do what I do, and I am sure that tallies with many of us here. For our families, our friends and the greater good, we give our best each and every day.
She must write a book!
"But then I’m reminded that we have the best gift. For me the best gift is you. I have you to spend the rest of my life with. I Have YOU To grow old with.
I have you to laugh with. I have you to hold my hand and lift me up. I have so much in you, I have to share it with you, just to remind you of how much of a gift you are.
Chibuzor, I am very honoured and privileged to be able to call myself your wife. I walk around with pride because I have your last name.
You inspire me and there’s millions who are waiting for you to inspire also.
I married you for who you are and I couldn’t be doing life with any other person on this planet. There really is no one out there that could carry me the way you do. You were well trained boy! Hallelujah!
I will always be proud of you. I will always do my best to honour you. I will always be inspired by you.
I will always be learning from you. I will always depend on you. I will always ride the waves of life with you and support you in anyway I can. I Pray I BECOME all God destined to be so I can be all you need me to be.
Thank you for loving me and doing the best by my children. Thank you for the continuous sacrifices you make so that we have a roof over our heads.
Thank You For EVERYTHING you are not and for everything you are.
You are by far the best blessing of my life.
I will forever be grateful.
Happy birthday my love."
