Why we believe that Azure and AWS will ultimately be the leaders in deploying AI to Enterprise.

I love The Information . Their article about the pressure OpenAI is under due to companies looking at using Microsoft for ChatGPT is such a great read, because the AI space is evolving so rapidly - especially with enterprise deployments.

Below is a great illustration of the companies accessing GPT via Microsoft versus directly via OpenAI.

We see this trend highlighted by The Information increasing in the AI sector.

Sonya Huang and Pat Grady at Sequoia Ventures have also written a brilliant followup to their original ground breaking article in part 2, where they talk about "The moats are in the customers, not the data". While this is about workflows and user networks, we also see this as applying to enterprise deployment, optimization and scaling of AI.

At Improvability, we are working with AWS/Anthropic/Bedrock because so many corporates already use/trust both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) - especially on privacy and security of data. It's a natural next step for so many to add workflow AI tools via AWS, and what they are building with a fully managed service at Bedrock - simplifying deployment while maintaining the privacy and security reliability that AWS already provides. Like with Microsoft, AWS customers can securely integrate and deploy generative AI capabilities into their applications using the AWS services they are already familiar with.

I predict that Azure and AWS will eventually dominate AI for corporates like they do with cloud - because they are building on such a strong base. It's easier to add to an existing major infrastructure contract - while Azure and AWS's team are so good at helping companies integrate new technologies smoothly, and helping startups design the architecture that fits with enterprises.

Why are we using AWS? Because Generative AI + AWS is the solution that the #sustainability and #climate sector really needs as we work with the following:

  • Large datasets of ESG and Climate data
  • Supply chain management, gathering data from 1000's of suppliers for large corporates using #Improvability
  • Corporate customers that need security, privacy and optimization services that they know and trust
  • Developing AI which really gets smart and starts to suggest improvements in climate and sustainability technologies and strategies for our customers.

I think that many more startups are going to follow us, and ultimately Azure and AWS will transition their leadership in Cloud into Generative AI.

Hi Tee, interesting read and considerations. Thanks for sharing. And yes very relevant for deploying AI solutions that create real impact beyond hyped expectations. Two considerations I would explicitly mention as well are: accuracy and explainable AI. The latter one also in terms of traceability. The possibility to create ‘Intellectual Property’ for third party Service Providers based on open interfaces into the core platform toolbox is also key.

Tee Ganbold ?? Let's pray that they will become leaders ONLY....if they understand AI Ethics...and this is seriously questionable.
