It blows my mind when I get on a prospect call and someone says "I don't need a coach",
Especially when it comes from a former athlete
If you are anything like me, and you have played sport all your life, you probably have a great understanding of nutrition, training, health and wellness - but the theory isn't always the same as practice
I have been in peak physical condition before - and I know the sacrifice and pain it takes to stay there - 2-3 hour days of working out and training. Trust me it isn't fun
Now I am older, and a bit more removed from playing full-time sports - that level of training just isn't required for me anymore
But one thing I do know is that I wouldn't have achieved that shape without a coach. You wouldn't have got there either
When you were an athlete I bet you never worried about counting calories, or setting time to workout. NO - you didn't because everything was done for you. The coach set up all the workouts, your strength coach taught you what to do in the gym, and your teammates and assistant coach held you accountable. You had so many layers of accountability there was no way you could fail.

So do you ever wonder how you manage to fall out of shape? How the hell did you gain weight and lose all the good habits you had before...
My guess is because you no longer had a coach. You no longer had someone to hold you to a high standard. That high standard is what sets the foundation for you to stay in shape all year
If you look in the mirror and see excess body fat, you see no muscle definition, you feel tired, slow, and unathletic - then that is all done to you lacking direction and not being able to set the standard for yourself, which is totally fine - and it happens - but what are you gonna do about it?
Anyone that says they don't need a coach is a liar - the best athletes in the world have coaches. Steph Curry, Lebron James, Ronaldo, Messi, Harry Kane, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, you name it they have coaches. You could argue that they are professional athletes so they need one - which is true. But, you are a professional too right? Whether you are now in the corporate world or running your business, you are a professional. You may not need elite-level fitness coaching, but you need to keep your body running like a well-oiled machine - you need energy, you need strength and confidence, you need good nutrition.
So don't say you don't need a coach - that is nonsense. You just aren't ready to commit to yourself and set higher standards. Maybe it's fear, maybe you don't believe in yourself - and that's totally fine. But don't leave it until it's too late!
