Each day it seems we are confronted with statements like in twenty years sixty percent of all jobs that we are currently engaged in will change significantly or disappear all together with changes in technology.
Why then instead of embracing this fact, do we instead hide from, deny, or at least fear the fact that we are transitioning into a time where constant learning is necessary due to the improvements through change that technology is bringing to our world?
No longer is an early education or training program that starts early in our working lives and has a completion marking us as experts in a particular field that will last us a lifetime without any further investment of learning something new.
Witness the evolution of the cell phone which has become such a vital part of our lives for much more than making calls to one another.
We have an innate fear of change and perhaps, it is this fear that transcends into a fear of learning new things, learning continually as we traverse life.
It is almost as if it is our tendency to want to keep our lives in a form of stasis. We believe that this affords us control and predictability.
If we are to fully realize the wonderful benefits that technology promises to bring to us in the next twenty years and beyond, we must overcome the fear of constant change and the constant learning of new things that accompanies change, any change.
Everything from quality of life to workplace safety to better business practices to unlocking the secrets of the universe......all these wonderful things are possible and technology will allow us access to and full realization of all aspects of the benefits of technology.
But, we must be willing to keep on learning all throughout our lives going forward!
Opportunity come from never stopping to learn new things! From opportunity comes betterment in a whole host of ideas and advancements the benefit us all in every aspect of our lives and the lives of countless others around the world.
Imagine having the excitement of a child when they learn to something new for the first time and the happiness and contentment that comes from the learning experience!
Now, imagine that same excitement when you are 40 or 50 or 60 years old and learning something new every day!
Imagine the possibilities if we had child like curiosity, not only as children but as adults all throughout our lives....imaging the possibilities!
I can only imagine a world where general health was better and getting more better each passing year! A world where we eliminate hardship for everyone! Thank of it...
First however, we must overcome our fear of constant learning. We must embrace learning as part of a new approach to life. An approach that leads to greater benefits for us all!
Fear must give way to curiosity, as learning gives way to opportunity!
Embrace constant learning! Embrace constant change! Let your curiosity become your opportunity as we make maximum use of technology for the betterment of us all and no one gets left behind!
