Why Video Content on LinkedIn Should Be at the Heart of Your Content Strategy

Why Video Content on LinkedIn Should Be at the Heart of Your Content Strategy

In today’s digital landscape, standing out in the sea of content is no small feat.

But one format consistently outperforms the rest: video.

On LinkedIn, where professionals seek inspiration, insights, and opportunities, video content is proving to be the key to visibility, engagement, and connection.

The Power of Video on LinkedIn

Statistics don’t lie:

  • LinkedIn users are 20x more likely to share a video than any other type of post.
  • Video content generates an average of 3x more engagement compared to text-only posts.
  • 59% of executives say they would rather watch a video than read text.

These numbers highlight one thing—video isn’t just another content type. It’s the content type for professionals aiming to make an impact.

Why Video Content Works

  1. Visual Storytelling: Video combines visuals and sound to create a memorable experience, making your message more impactful.
  2. Emotional Connection: Videos allow you to convey authenticity, building trust with your audience.
  3. Algorithmic Advantage: LinkedIn’s algorithm prioritizes video content, meaning more eyes on your posts.

How to Get Started with Video on LinkedIn

You don’t need to be a professional videographer to start. Focus on these key elements:

  • Clarity: Keep your message concise and to the point.
  • Authenticity: Be genuine—people connect with real stories.

Hi Carlos Batista I cannot speak for the 59% of executives who say they prefer video content. I am in the 41% group who prefers text - such as your newsletters. That said, because you echo what I have read in other articles, about LinkedIn's bias toward video content, I am going down that road - even although I am a 41%er ??
