When talking to companies who potentially may need temporary staff to deliver their goods and services, we often get asked the question “Why should I use temps?” With that in mind, we wanted to break down the reasons why you should at least consider temps as a solution, because you never know what the future might bring.
We have a wide range of customers. These include wholesale businesses to building suppliers, refuse collections (both domestic and trade), bespoke furniture designers to skip hire and even bus and coach companies. Typically, customers who have a need for temporary staff usually require them for one of these three situations:
Last minute staff shortage/emergency cover.
This is a common one, especially with Covid still being prevalent. An outbreak can lead to several members of staff calling in sick at very short notice. Depending on the size of your operation, one or two staff members could be covered, but any more can lead to your business being seriously impacted.?
The ability to deliver goods to your customers would be in jeopardy, especially if those members of staff have to isolate themselves for a number of days. Sometimes staff need unexpected time off for bereavement or sickness within the family. Again, Covid seems to be rife within our schools at the moment which can lead to parents having to take time off to care for their children.
Lastly, spikes in business can lead to rush order deliveries. Normal staffing levels may not be enough so many companies hire in temp staff to fulfil those deliveries. This allows your business to be flexible and easy to adapt.
